In the early 1970's, J.V. and Doris Huffman, a furniture upholsterer and a furniture sewer purchased a pool kit to install at their home in Claremont, North Carolina. Following the construction of their own pool, several friends asked if J.V. would install a pool for them. Realizing the potential for a swimming pool construction business, J.V. made a trip to Charlotte to discuss the possibilities with the company who manufactured his pool. Thus, the beginning of thirty-six years of quality swimming pool construction.
Starting with nothing, the company has grown from a totally home based business to one that includes a fleet of trucks, vehicles, heavy equipment, a retail supply and accessory store, and a world wide marketing network. The first year, J.V. installed less than ten pools. Now, thirty-seven years later, the company has installed over 1100 pools.

year after year receiving Pacific Pools Presidential Awards. In
2003,
S & H Pools received a great honor and was inducted into the
long-standing Pacific Pools Hall of Fame for its outstanding service,
customer relations, and hard work for over thirty years. More
recently, in January of 2008, S & H captured the top award for
Pacific's Builders' Choice Best Custom Pool.
Yet,
the
business
is still, after all these years of growth, a family owned and operated
business. The
business has been
built not only on quality products, but also on quality service,
personal
integrity and most of all Christian morals. We are proud to be a

and third pool when buying or building new homes. The employees
are
trained professionals in all areas of swimming pool construction,
service,
